By using an extremely long exposure, these images tend to record those people who have stopped to look, and often, to photograph.  These people solidify, and the couples chatting as they walk by dissolve.  The photographs explore the indifference of the landscape to its observers, the indtroduction of time exposes the impermanence of individual people in comparison to the world around us.

The intensity of the photographic gaze comes up constantly in my work, as well as the contrast between the electric moment of individual seeing and the general dull roar of our interaction with the world.  These images start to convey the idea of concentrated attention as a way of being more fully present in the world.
